Thierry Lasry

Paris-born designer stacking bold acetates into sharp, logo-free sculptural frames.

The story

The Lasry brothers grew up in an optical family: their father is an optician, and their parents founded the Harry Lary's brand in the late 1980s. Around 2001 the brothers relaunched Harry Lary's, and in 2006 Thierry started his namesake label. His idea was that sunglasses could bridge fashion, beauty and architecture. His influences include Lego, Playmobil, Japanese anime such as Astro Boy and Cobra, and the 1980s runways of Claude Montana and Thierry Mugler. The brand later opened boutiques in Paris (2016) and New York (2020) and works on collaborations from Fendi to AriZona. 02 People Founder and designer Thierry Lasry Paris, France; now based in New York Grew up in Paris, the son of an optician and a designer.
