The name is two halves: air, for light frames and clear sight, and qip, as in equip. airqip is the equipment for seeing well in something you love wearing.

The best eyewear in the world is made by small houses: a family in Treviso, a workshop in Aarhus, a designer in Sabae. Their frames rarely show up online in a way that tells you whether they will fit, and finding a shop that stocks them takes phone calls.
