Danish screwless titanium frames, feather-light and built to order.
The story
Poul-Jørn Lindberg ran an optical shop in Aarhus from 1969, and his own worsening eyesight left him frustrated with heavy frames and screws that kept working loose. In the early 1980s he and his architect son Henrik began experimenting with titanium wire, bringing in the architects Dissing+Weitling. The 1983 prototype led to Air Titanium, a rimless frame held together by a coiled, screwless titanium hinge.

LINDBERG releases 40th-anniversary capsule and limited Precious pieces
For its 40th year LINDBERG reworked three titanium rim styles (Jackie, Harley and Max) with acetate inner rims, added its first double-bridged rimless Spirit titanium frame, and released a Precious edition in 18K white gold with 40 rubies, limited to 40 pieces.
