Anne et Valentin

Toulouse opticians turned colourists, cutting frames to fit personalities.

The story

Anne and her husband were opticians who opened a shop in Toulouse around 1980; the brand's roots are in a 15th-century building on rue des Tourneurs. Finding the frames on offer dull, they began designing their own, and Anne drew the first models ahead of a 1984 launch.
