Lunor
German slow eyewear rooted in antique spectacle craft.
The story
Gernot Lindner, a Stuttgart master optician who collected antique spectacles, launched Lunor in 1991 to bring historical frame details into modern eyewear. Early lines such as Lunor I revived 18th- and 19th-century features like sliding telescopic temples and open temple tips. Around 2005 Lindner sold the company to fellow optician Ulrich Fux and his son Michael, who re-formed it as Lunor AG. Its round rimless Classic gained worldwide fame as the glasses Steve Jobs wore every day.
