BLAC

Raw carbon-fibre frames, hand-built in Denmark, inspired by Formula 1.

The story

BLAC began with Claus Bellinger's fascination with the McLaren MP4-1. The car made its mark at Silverstone in 1981 as the first Formula 1 car with a moulded all-carbon body. He set out to bring that combination of lightness and strength to eyewear. After about two years of development, BLAC launched in 2008 with what Bellinger House calls the first carbon-fibre eyewear collection. A key breakthrough was a patented method of laminating a metal core inside the carbon, which lets the temples be adjusted. 02 People Founder, co-owner and creative director Claus Bellinger Diederichsen Denmark Co-founded the Bellinger eyewear house with Malene Bellinger in 2003. A fascination with McLaren's carbon racing car drove him to develop the first carbon-fibre eyewear collection.
